Le Journal

The magazine

Le Journal appears as a set issue: long-form editorial from the worlds of Le Roi du Monde, laid out as a printed magazine and readable here page by page. Every issue is built from the house’s own published records, and every photograph carries the licence under which it is reproduced.

Issue 01 · Autumn 2026 · October 2026 · 24 pages

A thousand kilometres of river, a valley of tuffeau and slate, and the long European habit of building, altering and keeping. Read slowly, with the sources named.

The first printed issue of Le Journal runs west along the Loire and then leaves it: a country of painted timber palaces that have survived three centuries of Atlantic weather, a coast of fortresses that were mostly never attacked, botanical collections maintained near the Arctic Circle, and an Italy where the garden is frequently older than the villa standing in it. Every piece began as a record in the house's own database. Where a source says something, we say it and name the source; where the source is silent, we say that too.
